Paint Colors Essential for modern decorating by @shearerpainting april 2011

Since it is easy and cheap to change the paint colors of a room, it should be the last step in decorating. First select the hue for rugs, drapes, and wallpaper and settle on furniture. Bring fabric samples of these when you shop. An infinite variety of hues can be created by blending paints. Despite the ease, make no mistake, the choice will be the most important in creating the room’s tone.

Gradations of shade appear on sample strips for every hue on most color palate systems. The trim selected will often be a brighter variation of the one used on the wall. First become comfortable with family of tints found on the strip.

The deep tone colors can really stand out. Whites and their close counterparts off-whites. The contrast with the walls can make the room feel lively.
