Can you wear a spiral/ twisted barbell earring in your cartilage without having 2 piercings?

I saw a girl who was wearing a spiral barbell earring in the cartilage part of her ear. I didn’t know her so i didn’t ask her a lot about it. I couldn’t tell if the spiral was going through one piercing or 2 but i only have one. If i got a small spiral earring could i wear it through one piercing? or would i have to get another one?

Unless it was specially made to go through multiple holes, it only went through one. I say this because I have multiple piercings in my ears, and tried to find a spiral to go through them all forever…as it turns out, you have to have them specially made so that they fit the spacing correctly.

You could put one in your ear easily, the only problem would be the gauging. Most spiral rings are made for the eyebrow or belly button, so they will only fit your ear if it is gauged right. If you got your cartilage pierced at a body piercing shop, it should be the right size already. If you got your ear pierced at a jewelry place like delia’s or something, then chances are, its a smaller guage.

Here is a link to a bunch of spiral rings, but they are all larger gauges. IF you did get it done at a piercing shop, these would be perfect. I would suggest getting the one made for your eyebrow, as the sizing is more similar to your ear than the belly button spiral rings.
