Could i put African Peacock Cichlids in my tank?

well i currently have a 75 gallon tank, stocked with:
-5 Adult Silver Dollar Tetras
-1 adult female Firemouth Cichlid
-1 Juvenile blood parrot cichlid

anyway, i wanted to add 1 or 2 female convict cichlids but everywhere i look, all i see is how aggressive con’s are….I’ve always wanted to keep peacock cichlids but i know they have different water requirement and different aggression levels as central and south american cichlids…But does anyone think its possible that i could have a few peacock cichlids in this tank? how many? and what sex?

I wouldn’t recommend it man, you said it yourself how the two have different water pH requirements, your SA/CA’s like their pH around 7, but the peacocks like nothing lower than 7.5 or 8 even, and this means that they won’t be happy together, and yes, cons can be very aggressive especially if u get a breeding pair (which means any male and any female cuz they breed like rabbits). I take it you got rid of all of your other fish in the 75 and just have those 7 fish? Cuz if you add more territories and such you could get a female con (make sure it’s a female before you buy it or you’re in for a war), but that’s still really pushing it with your firemouth. If you wanted to you could maybe do a pair of kribs if you added a few clay pots for caves and territories (that will also help settle out your problems you have between your odd breeding pair of the firemouth and the parrot haha).
