Jewel thieves, are they really around anymore?
Times have long since changed where you here of a good old fashioned jewel shop hold up or even a bank robbery. The question is why have the times changed and what has made the criminals change their minds about not doing these different crimes?
Well the first point to make is that stealing jewellery has become a lot harder to do because some jewellery shops have more protection in them tthan a bank even. This is going to be especially true for the really valuable silver jewellery or other things like this like of course gold rings, silver earrings and anything gold or silver simply because the jewellery that is the real deal is worth thousands of dollars.
What is it criminals do now? Well the really sad thing is that many criminals now resort to taking money from people in the streets as well as getting involved in huge drug rings. What is it you would prefer? A rich company losing some of its jewellery and claiming it back on insurance or more drug activity happening which in turn means more murders/rapes and muggings in the streets.
There will always be criminals around and it does not matter if you cut off one of their main ways of income as they will just find another way to your money. Of course there are still criminals that rob banks and jewellery stores out there now but they have to be extremely clever to pull it off without being caught which is why so many have turned to some serious crimes.Knife crime is rising whereas gun crime seems to be on the fall but the question is that is it because criminals are hit by the recession and a knife is easier to obtain? Of course it isn’t, a knife is easier to conceal and less likely to get you in trouble if found on you.
Although things like Celtic jewellery may not seem much to the normal person, to a criminal it can be turned into thousands of pounds worth of revenue.
