Need Help Finding Native American Ancestry! Please Help!?
hello!
i’m 1/4 navajo. The problem is my grandfather on my… father’s…. side was adopted and all i know about him is his adopted name, the city he was born in, and about the year he was born. At the same i know everything about my…. father… My grandfather Henry Sanchez is a full navajo, and i’m almost positive that his parents were enrolled, i think Henry has passed. Please any info will help, and thanks.
You will need to find out if your grandfather and/or his parents were enrolled in the Navajo tribe because most tribes require that you prove a direct lineal relationship to an enrolled tribal member in order to be eligible for enrollment. Possibly they can help to locate your grandfather’s enrollment number and/or your great grandparents enrollment number.
A person MUST be at least 1/4 (one quarter) Navajo to be enrolled as a member of the Navajo Nation. To determine if you are eligible for tribal membership, contact the Navajo tribe.
