Question on the old Mexican lands?
Is it true that back before the Texas Revolution all of the land(New Mexico and Arizona) was part of Mexico, if so were the Navajo actually native Mexicans? If so, what is the probability of them mixing with the Mexican people, I’m part Navajo and I was wondering if I may be part Mexican due to the geography or Mexico before the Texas Revolution.
Until Texas Independence it belonged to Mexico. Until the Mexican War most of the remainder of the US southwest belonged, first to Spain, then Mexico.
Thousands of Navajo and other tribal members have Spanish surnames, for what that’s worth.
