Can i play football with a hand cast on?
I had a operation about 3 weeks ago to repair my thumb (broke the bone and ripped the ligament off the bone) and have had a hand cast put on it goes around my thumb and down to the end of my hand so not that big.
question is will the ref let me play with it on doctor told me i could but said its down to the ref and some people have told me to wear gloves so he cant see it or should i just ask? its mens football
USSF says that you may play with the permission of the referee. It must be padded.
NFHS (US High School) have a new rule, this year, that specifies that it must be padded with a “closed-cell, slow-recovery foam padding no less than 1/2-inch thick.” No bubble wrap.
In both cases, the referee has the ultimate authority. If they say no, then you will not play. Be prepared to accept it and support your team.
