How much are raw cut gem stones worth?
I have a bunch of different kinds of Gem Stones, and I’m trying to find out how much they are worth?
Yes, I know I can take them to a Jewler or to a Pawn Shop… But they are going to give me “Rock” bottom prices, (If they are evening going to buy them). This is what I have: Everything is natural not made in a lab.
1. 1 X 5.1CTW Ruby
2. 3 X 5.05CTW Malachite’s
3. 6 X 1.0CTW Garnets
4. 6 X 1.0CTW Amethyst
5. 1 X 5.6 Aquamarine
6. 1 X sapphire (9x7mm)
7. 1 X sapphire (9x9mm)
8. 1 X Blue Topaz (12x10mm)
9. 1 X .94CTW Emerald
10. 1 X Garnet (8mm)
11. 3 X 3.5CTW Quartz
12. 1 X 5.5CTW Topaz
13. 2 X 4.0CTW Citrine’s
14. 1 X 5.5CTW Amethyst
15. 5 Rubies total 1.25CTW
16. 1 X Opal (9X7mm)
Ok… thats’ it, all I would like is a good solid estimate from some who knows.

At some point you are going to have to trust someone in the business of dealing with stones. There is no possible way you can get a valuation on the information you have given nor will photographs of the stones be any serious help. The stones will have to be examined by an expert to obtain an estimate of their value and for this service you will have to pay a fee – that’s the way it works. You also have to understand that if you get an insurance valuation it will be nothing like the price you will get for them when you try to sell, it will be three to four times higher than you can hope to get when you try to dispose of them.
Sorry that this is not what you want to hear but that’s life.
