The custom of wearing lots of bracelets on one wrist came about at this time. There also was a renaissance of intricate Byzantine styles. Also making an appearance was jewellery crafted from either fine gold or silver mesh. In the 19th century, the Victorian impact led to gems designed with sentimental value.
