If you are thinking about buying jewelry for yourself or for a loved one then you should definitely consider skipping the mass produced stuff for sale at most stores and think about getting some unique handmade earrings instead!
Give it some thought. What’s so great about owning the exact same bracelet, necklace, or earrings as thousands of other people? Mass produced jewelry may be expensive but that doesn’t mean it’s truly valuable. I do not care what type of stone it’s made out of. I don’t care how many diamonds it’s made out of. It is not really unique or really valuable in any real way unless it is handmade.
When you purchase a piece of handmade jewelry you are making a connection with a real human being who has made that jewelry for you. That connection is worth more than any chunk of gold or however many carats. When you buy an extremely expensive diamond ring you just buying the same ring that many other people have purchased. There’s nothing truly special about a ring like this.
If you want to take this “personal connection” thing one step further then you should order a custom made necklace.
Such a necklace can have a name engraved on a pendant for one example. You can tell the jewelry artist what name (or phrase) you want to have printed on the pendant so you will know that it was made specially for you. This also makes for an amazing present for a Birthday. Your wife or girlfriend will definitely appreciate a gift with such a personal touch.
Another positive to buying handmade is that you are helping to support a real artist and not some huge corporation. That is something to feel really good about. Our world needs less corporate power and more human power. Artists make our world more “human” while corporations are only concerned with greater profits at any cost.
