Fertility Bracelets – Do They Work?

For many years, women who have been battling to get pregnant naturally have looked for other means of enhancing their fertility, both chemical and natural. One of the more natural methods of boosting fertility is the wearing of various gemstones worn as fertility bracelets.

How long have women been wearing fertility bracelets?

Prior to biblical times, women have been wearing fertility bracelets. References to the wearing of fertility bracelets appear in the old testament of the bible. Fertility bracelets created from elephant hair, copper and iron were worn by African tribes.

What gemstones are used in fertility bracelets and why?

There are many different gemstones used in the crafting of fertility bracelets. Bloodstone, garnet, chrysoprase, moonstone, aquamarine, tiger’s eye, aventurine, red coral, citrine, rose quartz and turquoise are some of them. These stones are all said to have enormous healing powers. Let us look at a few of these stones in greater detail.

1. Rose Quartz:

This type of quartz is considered to be a stone of love and increase sexual energy. It is usually of a light pink to rose red colour caused by traces of titanium, manganese or iron.

2. Aventurine:

Aventurine is said to encourage both physical and mental health, as well as increase fertility. It is usually a green rock, but can also be found in shades of greys, blues, browns, oranges and yellows.

3. Red Coral:

Red coral, also known as precious coral is found mainly in the Mediterranean Sea, It can be polished to a glossy shine and ranges from pale pink to deep red in tint. It is used in fertility bracelets because it is said to normalise the menstruation cycle.

4. Moonstone:

Moonstone is a beautiful rock with a pearly and opalescent gleam. It can be found in mixture of colours including grey, white, pink, green, brown and blue. Moonstone is said to help receptivity, the balancing of emotions and nurturing. It is used to assist the mother-to-be prepare herself to carry life.

5. Chrysoprase

Chrysoprase is a form of gemstone similar in composition to chalcedony. It is most usually found in shades of apple green, but this can change to a deep green shade.  This stone is believed to balance the hormones and correct any bleeding disorders.

Do fertility bracelets work?

Many people hope that fertility bracelets do indeed work. They believe that the stones and the energies that are within will indeed help your fertility, cure any medical conditions you might have and help you conceive. they also believe that the same curing energies will move through the foetus and help it develop the way you should when the bracelet is worn after conception.

Wearing a fertility bracelet can symbolise your desire to fall pregnant and have a baby of your own whether or not you decide you believe in the healing properties of the stones.
