This is one holiday that is usually primarily for adults. So if you choose to go the route of an adult only party you have lots of options. The first is having food typically associated with Ireland. You can make a big pot of lamb stew and even serve corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. As far as beverages go you can tint or dye any beverage to be green. It will add some fun to the drinks everyone is imbibing in. Your decorations can be green streamers, clovers and plenty of green everywhere you look. You may even have gold, chocolate wrapped coins strewn across the tables for people to enjoy.
How can my children enjoy Saint Patrick’s Day?
Your children do not have to be left out of any Saint Patrick’s Day festivities. You can include them in and also give them the history of St. Paddy’s Day. They will love the legends and history attached to this festive occasion. If you want to create a kid friendly party for your children and their friends you can find tons of recipes that are sure to be a big hit. Make some cupcakes and tint the icing green. You can top the cupcakes with red and green candies or you can decorate it with shamrocks. If you want to go a step farther you can also provide cute hats for all the kids to wear. A great suggestion for an activity that everyone can love is to host a treasure hunt. You can tell the kids they are searching for the leprechaun’s pot ‘o gold at the end of the rainbow. Make a detailed map that offers clues from one location to the next. Then at the final spot make a rainbow and have a small pot filled with gold wrapped chocolate coins.
