How to Get a Date – The Shy Man’s Guide
To some people, getting a date with the prettiest girl at the pool hall is as easy as silently counting to ten. However, for other guys, it’s about as hard as repeating the alphabet three times in your head, except the first time you are going from Z to A, then A to Z, then Z to A, all while trying to give a public speech to an audience of 30,000. Does this sound like you?
If it does, then know this: you are not alone. There are plenty of guys just like you who don’t even know where to begin when it comes to even talking to a woman.
What if you don’t say the right thing when you “accidentally” bump into her on your way up to the snack bar? What if you are too shy? What if you just can’t be smooth enough?
These are all questions that the typical guy in your situation asks himself. However, you need to notice that all of those questions have one thing in common, and it is this: each one of those questions are based on irrational fears.
Most irrational fears are difficult to break. The good news is, you do not have to break them in order to get that date you so desire. You just have to approach this task in a different way. Here are a couple ways that you can bypass your irrational fears, and get that date fast.
- Double dates. Do not let the word “date” scare you into blowing the concept of a date out of proportion in your head. There are easy ways to go about getting that first date, and one of them is to set up a double date. Yes, this involves going on a date with perhaps a mutual friend and his or her significant other. You can offer your person of interest to go on a double date, which comes across as much less intimidating to the other person, and when you think about it, it is generally easier to ask a person to go spend time with you and some other people than it is to ask that person to spend time alone with you when they hardly even know you.
- Semi-blind dates. This is a handy method to get a first date if you have the right connections. Say the girl you have your eyes on is friends with one of your friends. Ask that friend of yours to set up a “blind date” between you and the woman you fancy, and you are off to the races. If either you or your female interest are not comfortable with that idea, ask your friend to set up a double date between you and the other person, which again, comes across as much less intimidating.
