presently there is much time and energy spent by students in getting to the essential fundamentals – which really get ‘used’. also very often, one gets caught in the details – and the essence gets left out – like in my case!
what if – we had the essentials of all engineering and technology, and we studied just that. thereafter only applications and practice.

Getting the essence of engineering is needed to make the education more effective. This can reduce the number of years that one spends studying things, which don’t get used in practice. Having such essence will save us from information overload.
Science (logical thinking) is the basis for all scientific disciplines that include engineering and medicine also. So, if you are good at applied science, you will have little difficulty in these apparently different areas.
