Answer: Myra must have felt closeness to Helen, since she was truly the only friend she really had. Helen insisted on Myra taking the brooch the same has when Myra insisted on Helen taking the gift. ‘’Here ill give it to you.’’ I took the brooch from her and pushed it back into her hand’’ pg.145. Myra lived all of her life with only Jimmy as her companion, but Helen proved to Myra by reaching out to her with her act of kindness that a friends is easier to find then it seems.
