I’m officially part of 2 bellydance troupes. What do I do now?
My teacher has asked me to become a bellydance troupe with her, and I have accepted. My friend has asked me to join her and become a troupe, and I have accepted. One is a serious buisness, the other is for our Amtgard group, which is a LARP, to help bring back the arts. What can I do to be great at working with a troupe in general? Any tips with being able to work well with others, and become not only a good follower, but a great leader too?
I would make sure that my role in the troupe is clearly defined, so I can do my best to try to meet what is expected of me. What are the goals and expectations of the troupes? What type of costume(s) and props will you be expected to have? Often there are non-dance aspects of a troupe that will need to be handled, such as advertising, contacting people about possible gigs, doing contracts, perhaps getting troupe info online, etc. How will those tasks be handled, and who will handle them?
