Afghan Nomad

How is this(read decription) significant to the framing of the novel The Kite Runner?
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The novel begins with Amir’s memory of peering down an alley, looking for Hassan who was kite running for him. As Amir peers into the alley, he witnesses a tragedy. The novel ends with Amir kite running for Hassan’s son, Sohrab, as he begins a new life with
Amir. Refer to the following passage: “Afghans like to say: Life goes on, unmindful of beginning, end…crisis or catharsis, moving foward like a slow dusty caravan of kochis(nomads).” How is this significant to the framing of the novel?
The passage highlights the fact that the tragedy and the guilt Amir feels at having betrayed Hassan are all part of life – we move on before we’ve made our mistake and we continue after them, but we change and grow because of them. Had Amir not had to have dealt with his betrayal of Hassan, he would not have become the kind of man he was by the end of the novel. The passage, at least in my reading, is a statement about humanity’s (and the Afghan) struggle through life – life keeps moving eternally and we with it, our choices clinging to us like the dust.
An Afghan Nomad and a lost English man meet at desert somewhere in Afghanista.
