One of the defining characteristics of adjustable beds is their capacity to elevate your head or legs above your heart. Some patients have been told to sleep with their head or feet elevated due to a medical condition. Most of us, though, should lie flat when sleeping and take advantage of the elevation control only for conveinence while watching TV or reading. Sleeping flat will enable normal movements while you sleep and is healthier for for your spine.
